The primary purpose of this position is to perform comprehensive asset management by establishing accountability of sensitive Information Technology (IT) hardware assets by formal receipt and acceptance in the official accountable property system of record, and conducting organizational analyses for a wide diversity of organizations, functions, and work processes.
Duties
DUTY 1: Conducts the IT AM/PWCS program for the installation. Plans and develops controls over the IT AM/PWCS program by reviewing and adhering to Air Force guidance on proper accounting of Information Technology (IT) and Personal Wireless Communication Systems (PWCS) assets. Analyzes ITAM/PWCS data and reports. Provides advice and technical guidance to units in all areas related to IT AM/PWCS.
DUTY2: Executes IT AM program planning, operations, and related training requirements. Develops procedures for units to support ITAM operations. Provides technical assistance and training to the equipment custodians.
DUTY 3: Uses technical skills to help perform management and/or program support assignments. Properly updates, revises, sorts, calculates, and manipulates data in spreadsheets to produce standard reports.
DUTY 4: Works to achieve and support quality improvement in all products and services and takes a proactive approach in promoting the IT AM/PWCS programs.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Asset Management Specialist, 0301 w/ no Individual Occupational Requirements for the series in conjunction with Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes ???????performing accountability of Information Technology (IT) assets, receiving and transferring excess IT hardware, conducting inventories and preparing reports.

EDUCATION: ???????Successful completion a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: ??????? A combination of experience and education. (Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9)
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
Note: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. Due to the use of 120 day rosters, applicants within 120 days of completion of TIG requirements are encouraged to apply.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge and skill in the application of Department of Defense, Joint, and Air Force management principles, concepts, and methodologies and Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) directives, procedures, guidance, and policy.
Knowledge of Air Force Equipment Management System Asset Inventory Management (AFEMS-AIM) used to receive, add, transfer, and excess Information Technology assets; and to manage account information to include equipment custodians, office symbols, active and inactive accounts, and inventory status.
Knowledge of ITAM inventory procedures and ability to prepare inventory reports.
Skill in providing advice and technical guidance to representatives from installation organizations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy and diplomacy.
Ability to access or locate information through the use of a personal computer and software programs.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
