About the Position: This position is located at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with the Directorate of Product Assurance (DPA), Quality Control Division.
Duties
Provide daily statuses to upper management such as work status, delay causes, and operational issues.
Maintain workload distribution for employees in support of mission requirements.
Monitor maintenance management programs to track assets, schedule maintenance and track work orders.
Inform workers on policies, written instructions, and other directives (e.g., technical orders).
Verify employees work performance is in accordance with inspection standards.
Perform quality inspections to verify production efficiency.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Must be able to occasionally travel 10% to attend workshops, training, or seminars.
- Occasionally must lift and carry heavier items over 40lbs.
- Must be able to pass a physical examination prior to employment and annually thereafter.
- Must be willing to accept a temporary appointment.
- One-year supervisory probationary period is required, unless previously completed.
- This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer such as protective clothing or gear such as safety glasses, safety shoes, or hearing protection.

Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE 1 year if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability To Lead or Supervise. Perform common Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Inspector Supervisor tasks to include: determining work sequence, priorities and deadlines of scheduled assignments; providing inspection reports administrative matters and 3) recommending operational support to meet mission. I can observe work inspections in progress and upon completion. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts: The employee is required to stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Inspections and repairs are often completed while the vehicle is overhead. The employee frequently lifts parts and equipment that weight up to 40 pounds. Occasionally incumbent must lift and carry heavier items with assistance from other workers or mechanical devices.
Working Conditions: Works both inside and outside. Work is usually performed inside where it is drafty and noisy, and fumes from vehicles are usually present. Subject to extremes of weather and temperature. The employee must stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Vehicle fluids, such as battery acids and hydraulic fluids, may cause burns or irritate the skin. There is frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, bruises, shocks, burns and strains. May be required to work in awkward positions and cramped quarters for short periods of time. Possibility of injuries from falls while climbing onto and off equipment. Employee may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, safety shoes, goggles, heat protection, safety glasses, and gloves.
