This position is located on USDA-Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Management Service Center, Financial Services Division, Treasury Services Branch, Collections Processing Section in New Orleans, LA.
Duties
Responds to inquiries received by email, phone or in writing both professionally and timely.
Assists agencies and vendors in the interpretation of processing procedures for the administrative financial systems and subsystems.
Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information.
Reviews changes to standard internal and/or external operating procedures to ensure consistency with processing requirements.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

Specialized Experience Requirement:
GS-07: I have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-06 level in Federal Service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector/pay systems equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform as a Financial Assistant. Specialized experience is defined as experience reviewing financial data for accuracy and completeness; recognizing and correcting inaccurate data; presenting and reporting financial data and issues to management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education is not creditable above the GS-06 level for positions covered by this standard.
