You will serve as a PIPEFITTER LEADER in the Facilities Sustainment Division, EUR Branch EUR B of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.

Duties

You will direct work priorities, project schedules, and detailed work plans to meet pipefitting production requirements. You will recommend changes to work sequences to accomplish production pipefitting work in a timely manner. You will review pipefitting work performed by employees for consistency with the objectives. You will interpret blueprints and sketches to plan and layout routing and placement of piping systems. You will interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and layout the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operation of different piping systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Installing, modifying, and/or repairing new and existing piping systems and equipment for potable water utility systems; 2) Preparing plans and laying out piping for valve network ensuring the effective operation of the system; 3) Cutting, bending, silver soldering, threading, caulking, and assembling various types and sizes of pipes and fittings using various types of shop and portable machinery, tools, and equipment.
