About the Position: The incumbent will manage the Plans and Designs team for a large medical campus at Joint Base San Antonio, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The position require the development and maintenance of an attractive, safe, and functional interior environment which contributes to employee morale, productivity, and customer experience.

Duties

Evaluate rooms or spaces to develop design standards. Advise on facility space utilization based on organization requirements. Develop design elements, such as carpet, colors, furniture, and lighting. Input information into databases, such as Computer Aided Drafting, to document existing space utilization. Advise design projects to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations Recommend utilization standards based on industry guidelines and best practices. Coordinate with internal or external entities in the planning and development processes. Review completed work to ensure compliance with established plans and specifications.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • May require business travel up to 25%.

  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Interior Environmental Design, or related field of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
