Duties

Collect bio-psychosocial information about patients using interview, case history, observation techniques, and assessment methods. Provide individual and group psychotherapy. Work with the multi-disciplinary team to develop disposition planning. Function as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, presenting internal reports and participating in patient evaluation and treatment planning. Evaluate treatment effectiveness and make adjustments to patient's treatment plans as appropriate. Utilize electronic health record systems to document and review patient data.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
• This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Social Worker: Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted independent Social Work clinical licensure from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. AND Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations, providing individual and group therapy, and developing behavioral health treatment plans or recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
