Duties
Utilize a wide range of manual welding processes and techniques.
Install, maintain and repair high-temperature water and high-pressure piping systems such as hydraulic, nitrogen, oxygen, steam heating, and steam generating systems.
Install, modify, and repair new and existing high and low-pressure steam lines, gas, air vacuum and water distribution systems, sanitary and storm sewers, sprinkler and chilled water systems, and other piping systems
Prepare, place, and move safety tags in accordance with established procedures.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer's instructions.
Use shop mathematics to lay out angles, arcs, and circles.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
- Suitable for Federal employment
- Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical examination
- Obtain and maintain backflow certification within the first 6 months of employment
- Applicants must submit a copy of their American Welding Society or equivalent Pipe Welding certificate with their application.

Qualifications
There are no specific length or level of experience requirements. The applicant's overall background of experience, education and training must clearly demonstrate the ability to perform the duties described in this announcement such as, installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing high and low-pressure steam lines, gas, air vacuum and water distribution systems, sanitary and storm sewer without more than normal supervision.

Applicants must meet the screen out elements and achieve an overall score of at least fifty (50%) or higher
