Duties
As a Deputy Administrator, you will:
Exercise concurrent authority with the Area Office Administrator on administrative issues affecting day-to-day operation of the Area satellite office (ASO).
Provide administrative coordination of Area satellite office (ASO) functions such as managing travel, staff and equipment, supplies and training based upon the Department's Strategic Plan, ONAP's Management Action Plan, risk assessments, and a proper balance between resource allocation and mission accomplishments.
Provide recommendations to the Administrator on budget allocations, reviews of Area satellite office (ASO) organization and staff performance, and findings of evaluation studies on the effectiveness of program delivery in the assigned service area.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Supervising staff responsible for providing technical assistance and/or evaluating tribal housing programs; AND
Developing relationships and involvement among tribal groups to help resolve housing program, grant, and community development issues with Federal, state or local agencies, or the private sector; AND
Analyzing policies and procedures for efficiencies and making recommendations
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
