This position is the Deputy Executive Director (Code 1101), Executive Support Department (Code 1100), located at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) in Hawaii. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 9.28% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.

Duties

You will participate with other supervisors and the Executive Director in short and long-range planning to address prospective changes in functions and programs for the Department and PHNSY and IMF. You will serve as a secondary advisor to the Shipyard Commander, participating in top management discussions, decisions and policy making. You will represent the Executive Director or Shipyard Commander at meetings, official functions/visits, executive steering groups and public events. You will meet frequently with high-ranking officials, PHNSY and IMF department heads, partner organizations, and labor unions.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Incumbent may be able to obtain a government issued passport.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience managing the development, implementation, or management of program policies or strategies for Shipyard processes and operations. This experience would typically include, but is not limited to: Providing expert advice and guidance on policy development or strategic planning; reviewing program operations to assess efficiency, effectiveness, or resolve problems; and/or establish program goals, objectives, or methods of evaluation.
