The primary purpose of this position Electronic Mechanics Leader, WL-2604-11, is to lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis. Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards.
Duties
Lead a team of trades and/or labor workers.
Perform nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led.
Install, modify overhauls, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complete avionics operating system(s) and instrument devices.
Sets up and operate software controlled automatic test equipment (ATE) to test and troubleshoot complex electronics and instrument device components and systems.
Use and maintain hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, wrenches, soldering irons, and micro soldering units.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation And Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequently lifts and carries items weight over 25 pounds with mechanical or human assistance. Considerable standing, walking, stooping, and bending is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normally works in shop environment with adequate lighting. On a daily basis the incumbent works with chemicals and adhesives. Is expected to wear safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirators, and air supplied respirators in confined spaces.
