This position is assigned to the Family Readiness Division; Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) Section; Commander, Navy Region Northwest. The mission of the FFSP is to provide information and referral, education and training, primary prevention, counseling and advocacy to facilitate achieving operational readiness and personal and family self-sufficiency.
Duties
Provides wide range of support and assistance that is in direct support of programs, administrative and management functions within the Fleet and Family Support Program.
Maintains database with walk-in, call-in client statistics and provide date for monthly, quarterly, etc., reports.
Maintains and inputs a statistical record of contacts into FFSMIS in a timely manner.
Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives. Maintains staff calendars, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and/or conferences.
Provides advice and guidance to FFSP staff and other clerical personnel on administrative, clerical, and procedural requirements and instructions, and assists in solving problems to which existing guidelines can be applied.
Requirements
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment to include passing all applicable records and background check.
Qualifications
Knowledge of the policies, regulations, procedures, and reporting requirements governing the programs of the FFSC.
Knowledge of the military lifestyle, the unique challenges faced by service members/families and the array of services available to address these issues either through work assignment or life experience as a military sponsor, military dependent or similar.
Formal education, training or at least six months' work experience in the field of human services including military or community-based human service agencies and programs.
Skill in communicating with clients to obtain factual information and explain regulations and agency procedures and other organizations involved.
Proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format to prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.
Experience with various office automation software to include Microsoft Office products
