Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment not to exceed 2 years by a current permanent Army Employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a TERM appointment not to exceed 2 years, if candidate is NOT a current permanent Army employee. TERM appointments may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
Duties
Ensure accountability of property, correct maintenance of automated property records, and monitoring and evaluating Central Issue Facility performance.
Maintain system control, ordering, issue, turn-in, availability, accountability, requirements determination, excess, inventory management, receiving, and storage.
Conduct safety and health inspections involving physical layouts, construction procedures, equipment, lighting, sanitation, physical hazards, personal protective equipment, fire prevention and protection, hazardous materials.
Maintain formal property records that reflect on-hand balances, condition codes, and location of property assigned to the accounts.
Prepare physical inventory procedures and ensure cyclic inventories are conducted monthly as well as annually.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes ensuring adequate equipment is available to support mission requirements; respond to inquiries, audits and/or inspections concerning supply program resources utilization; managing physical inventory procedures; reviewing the work produced by contractors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
