The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is looking for temporary employees to work as Materials Handlers in Idaho.
Locations for these positions are:
Idaho Falls District (Idaho Falls / Salmon, ID)*
*NOTE: For district locations, applicants may be assigned to any of the locations listed for that district.
Duties
A Materials Handler (WG-04) performs a variety of general manual duties and responsibilities in and around a warehouse. Maintains and issues fire supplies while documenting records. May deliver supplies and equipment to fire stations.

Qualifications
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations will be used in determining your qualifications. There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through experience shown in your resume.
Screen-out Element: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. This must be verifiable on your application.
To qualify for a WG-04, you must have experience in the operation (day to day activity) of a cache or warehouse in order to procure, issue, control, store and judge the physical condition of a wide variety of equipment and supplies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates.

Physical Effort: Incumbent's work requires standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries supplies, materials, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds on a recurring basis. The heavier items are moved with weight-handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. Work is generally performed on a concrete or a hard surface floor.
Working Conditions: Incumbent works in both inside and outside areas. Work may occur in areas that are hot, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Materials Handlers are frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, and falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas. The work is dirty, dusty, and greasy. Incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer. Involves frequent driving and deliveries on paved and unimproved roads.
Education
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
