Duties
You will provide daily security support in a wide range of security functional areas that include information security, physical security, personnel security, communications security, and general security administration.
You will plan, implement and administer the Special Access Program (SAP)/Special Access Required (SAR) Security ensuring SAP/SAR security programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
You will operate within a security team or could serve as the alternate Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO) providing advice and assisting the team lead in all aspects of SAP/SAR security programs needed to complete the organization's mission.
You will prepare, review and evaluate program and security documentation to ensure adequate protection is provided in accordance with program requirements.
You will operate as an effective team member within the Navy/DoD structure and be able to understand and apply ethical standards in relationships.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate:
At the DA-02 Level:
Three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-01-04) or pay band (DA-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Marking controlled unclassified information (CUI), classified information, and sensitive information; (2) Working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat; and (3) Effectively communicating with leadership.
At the DA-03 Level:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05-08) or pay band (DA-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Security Specialist. Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Providing security related training briefs to workforce under area of cognizance; (2) Demonstrating ability to effectively communicate with leadership; (3) Assisting with research projects, identifying viable solutions, and establishing priorities; and (4) Handling and marking controlled unclassified information (CUI), classified information, and sensitive information.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
DA-02 Level:
Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
DA-03 Level:
Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
