You will serve as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager in the Safety and Occupational Health Division of NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS.
Duties
You will analyze safety and occupational health policies or procedures to identify deficiencies or recommend improvement to work processes.
You will review information from previous compliance reviews of the site to be inspected to see if any corrective actions were recommended and if they were performed.
You will coordinate investigations of federal employee's complaints or serious mishaps that threaten or violate safety and health of the workforce.
You will conduct root cause analysis of personal injury and industrial mishaps to identify contributing factors and recommend preventive measures.
You will review work procedures for compliance with safety laws and regulations.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing Safety and Occupational Health management procedures, policies, techniques, and regulations to provide effective management; 2) Administering a comprehensive Safety and Occupational Health Safety Management System associated with programs involving hazard identification and reporting and worksite inspection; 3) Promoting safe and sound working practices/procedures essential to the success of an efficient and safe work environment; and 4) Advising senior management on courses of action affecting facility operations, work processes, and environmental conditions which may impact the safety and health of personnel.
