About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) located within the Department of Preventive Medicine Army Hearing Program for Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Moore, GA. The primary purpose of this position is to support the local Military Treatment Facility and its tenant organizations, military and civilian personnel in a variety of industrial operations by assessing for compliance based upon applicable regulations.

Duties
Administer and interpret the full range of consultative and diagnostic procedures to patients of all ages.
Counsel patients and families as to the diagnosis and makes recommendations for necessary referrals.
Coordinate with physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists etc... to ensure the patients with multiple handicapping conditions receive the coordinated care they need.
Plan and directs aural rehabilitation program for those patients who will benefit from amplification.
Utilize special techniques to evaluate the vestibular system in order to diagnose and treat individuals with dizziness and balance disorders.
Select orders, and measure to properly fit hearing aids and conduct evaluation.
Requirements

- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires heavy lifting up to 30 pounds.
- You must undergo a specific initial background checks, investigation and periodic re-verification check of multiple agency records to obtain and maintain a suitable determination to occupy a position having regular contact with children.
- Temporary duty travel (TDY) of 5 % may be required.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).

- This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Degree: A graduate degree (or higher level degree) that included 18 semester hours in the field of audiology with approved clinical practice from an education program that was approved, recognized, or accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) at the time the degree was obtained.
Licensure: Applicants must possess a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice Audiology in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating audiology patients; implementing audiology treatment plans; and educating or counseling on audiology treatment/topics. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. However, the education is required for this position refer to the Degree information above.
