You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT in the Administrative Office of NAVWPNSTA SEAL BEACH. Salary range: Seal Beach, CA GS-6: $51,995 - $67,589 per annum GS-7: $57,778 - $75,111 per annum Lemoore, CA GS-6: $42,022- $54,625 per annum GS-7: $46,696 - $60,703 per annum

Duties

You will resolve administrative issues (e.g., travel orders, payment issues, timekeeping) in an office environment. You will monitor Travel Charge Card transactions throughout a command. You will serve as an authorizing official for travel authorizations and vouchers ensuring that all submissions are in compliance with Joint Federal Travel Regulations. You will maintain records of awards or award nominations (e.g., database input, tracking systems, hard copy files) to keep documents organized. You will prepare correspondence according to Navy requirements to check for proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation and to review documents for conformance.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting the Administrative officer with various administrative duties to include budget preparation, updating/maintaining directives, submitting awards, and performance management; 2) Providing guidance on naval correspondence preparation and administrative procedures based on established guidelines; 3) Using various office automation software to generate reports, create presentations, and draft papers in order to analyze and evaluate program effectiveness; and 4) Logging, routing, and responding to routine and sensitive correspondence to ensure that internal staff meet deadlines. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Gathering and compiling documents for budget preparation, status reports, and award preparation; 2) Following Naval correspondence preparation and administrative procedures; 3) Using various office automation software to prepare correspondence, input data, and maintain data; and 4) Maintaining and organizing files, correspondence, and reports.
