The United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida's (USAO-SDFL) mission is to enforce and defend the laws of the United States of America through the prosecution of criminal cases brought by the Federal government; the prosecution and defense of civil cases in which the United States is a party; and the collection of debts owed to the Federal government that are administratively uncollectible.
Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Administrative Services Assistant (OA) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Florida, located in Miami, Florida, focusing in the areas of human resources; financial management; and office automation support.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Typical work assignments will include:
Performing limited or routine technical support duties.
Providing technical assistance and processing support to human resources specialists with time and attendance.
Providing technical assistance and processing support to budget analysts.
Assisting in a variety of administrative services activities.
Providing office automation support.
Performing receptionist duties.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National to apply for this position.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
To qualify at the GS-06 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) the duties listed below:
Providing routine technical assistance and processing support in one or both of the following administrative services programs: human resources or financial management;
Using various software programs to copy, store, retrieve, and/or print documents; and
Performing a variety of routine administrative services such as maintaining electronic databases to track information or receiving, opening, or routing mail.
To qualify at the GS-07 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) the duties listed below:
Providing technical and processing support in one or both of the following administrative services programs: human resources or financial management;
Using various software programs to create and edit a variety of documents such as correspondence, memoranda, directives, or forms reports; and
Developing new approaches and procedures to integrate and modify office automation processes.
Typing Proficiency: To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
