You will serve as a Transportation and Maintenance Operations Superintendent in the NAVFAC Washington Public Works Department of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Duties

You will supervise individuals who perform transportation work in support of the organization's fleet management program, maintenance program and operations. You will prepare reports and briefs the Chain of Command on priority issues pertaining to Transportation functions; and serves as the Transportaion Branch head when needed/required. You will serve as the manager for Maintenance and Operations for the management of the Transportation function. You will manage authority for staffing levels, employee development and training, grievances, performance evaluations, preparation of required documentation for disciplinary actions, recruitment, promotions and incentive awards. You will coordinate work operations on a monthly, quarterly, or project basis with supervisors or representatives from other organizations or units. You will develop long range plans for the Transportation Division.

  • Within 3 years of assuming the position the incumbent must achieve Certified Federal Fleet Specialist (CFFS) accreditation or recognized equivalent.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license to travel to dispersed sites within the local commuting areas.
  • Moderate travel away from the normal duty station is required; Moderate travel to CNI, NAVFAC Headquarters, and region sites is required. Travel by air is required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing work plans developed in order to monitor the status of overall schedule requirements; 2) Redirecting employee and resources in order to accomplish unscheduled and unplanned changes to work specifications to ensure successful completion of assigned work; 3) Reviewing personnel resources to evaluate work progress and control cost; and 4) Planning work execution by considering priorities, present workload, weather, equipment, and workforce requirements and availability.
