Engineering Technician will serve as one of two Maintenance Planner estimator, and project analyst in the BOID Division,

Duties

Studies work requests to determine if sufficient information has been provided to initiate a reliable plan and estimate. Develops a detailed scope of work for projects to be accomplished by BOA. Serves as point of contact for asbestos abatement, removal, enclosure, and encapsulation Arsenal wide. Prepare specifications, scope of work, estimates, and asbestos handling permits for all Arsenal force abatement work. Makes field visits to visually inspect items, site, structure, equipment or production lines.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). To qualify for the GS-10: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) studying work requests to determine if sufficient information has been provided to initiate a reliable plan and estimate; 2) Developing data to be used for reference purposes or as a basis for computing estimates on future work requests covering work of a recurrent and repetitive nature; and 3) Making field visits to visually inspect items, site, structure, equipment or production lines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
