The purpose of this position is to serve as supervisor of the Meat Department
Duties
Plan, organize, and direct the meat department operations.
Supervise and provide direction to subordinate employees within the department.
Ensure workload requirements are met to include establishing prices for all meat products sold.
Inspect equipment and checks temperature level regularly.
Conduct frequent inspections of work areas to ensure regulatory compliance with sanitary and safety policies.
Maintain production record and reports.

Requirements

Qualifications

Your resume should show your specific knowledge, skill, and abilities for this position in relation to each of the elements being measured.
Examples of qualifying experience:
Process beef, pork, veal, and lamb into varying types and size of steaks and roast to include special order crown roasts into retail and ready to eat cuts.
Use tools common to the trade to include hand saws, bone duster, electric saws, meat tenderizers, slicers, and grinders.
Lead and instruct subordinates in specific tasks and job techniques.
Monitor employee work schedule, performance, conduct and training needs.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods. (2) Frequently lifts, pushes, and pulls pieces and bulk boxes of meat weighing 25 pounds. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.
