About the Position: This position is with the USA MEDCOM HLTH CARE ACQ ACTY OFFICE OF THE COMMANDER - Central, located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Serve as SUPV IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN), responsible for foster the development of others by providing guidance or sharing expertise,and resolve diverse viewpoints/controversial issues.
The is a NH-2210-04 pay band position which is equivalent to GS-14 step 10 level.
Duties
Foster the development of others by providing guidance or sharing expertise
Conducts marketing and corporate communications and project/program management.
Presents organizational briefings to convey strategic vision or organizational policies.
Resolve diverse viewpoints/controversial issues.
Directs and executes the development, integration and management of operations concepts, activities, policies, and plans through subordinate staff.
Provides senior level managerial expertise regarding all aspects of Information Technology (IT)/Knowledge Management (KM) infrastructure.
Initiate actions to resolve major organizational issues.
Works with customer at management levels to resolve problems affecting programs/projects.
Provides functional and technical support and ensures an understanding across the enterprise of GFE furnished to achieve the mission.
Subject matter functional expertise provided includes IT policy development and implementation, IT system and program performance measurement.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time

Specialized Experience Statement (HR/SME): One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level the Federal service which includes experience recognizing technical /functional authority, developing cross-functional growth to meet organizational needs. Assessing strategic directions for resolution of mission- critical problems, polices and procedures. Presenting organizational briefings to convey strategic vision or organizational policies.- Participating on high-level teams. Work with customer at management levels to resolve problems affecting programs/projects and managing all resources across projects/programs. Provides senior level managerial expertise regarding all aspects of Information Technology (IT)/Knowledge Management (KM) infrastructure. Supervises and oversees execution of activities in Automation Branch and KM section, exercising the full range of supervisory authority and responsibilities. Performs and directs in depth studies and executes special projects in a variety of management, operations, and administrative program areas.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03/GS-13).
