About the Position: This position is located at Weed Army Community Hospital in Fort Irwin, California.
Duties
Advise clinical and hospital committee staff regarding special projects involving the installation, service and repair of highly complex medical equipment and systems.
Set up and installs new medical Patient Care Equipment (PCE) systems.
Develop short and long-range medical maintenance plans for supported facilities.
Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services (PM) inspections of medical PCE.
Install sophisticated/complex medical equipment and/or systems to include, standalone equipment and/or components that contain integrated circuitry.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State Driver's license and complete the Army Accident-Avoidance Course to perform the duties of this position and to visit offsite locations.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time.
- May be required to work irregular hours to include other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays to resolve PCE problems and/or be subject to callback to perform emergency PCE repairs.
- Must obtain and maintain DoD 8570.01-M (Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program for IAT-III COMPTia Security+ certification) within 6 months ensuring baseline security skills to obtain a token to enable access to the MHS Genesis network.
- This position may require a pre-employment physical examination.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing troubleshooting of electronic components or medical equipment problems; installing patient medical/non-medical equipment; performance diagnostics on equipment to ensure patient safety. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
