You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (OA) within NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will serve as information source for the new employee on policies, procedures, work rules, norms, etc.
You will review command correspondence to ensure appropriate responses are provided and coordination has been accomplished in all involved elements.
You will serve as purchase cardholder for the government purchase card, maintaining proper documentation and forwarding monthly input to appropriate staff elements.
You will interpret and applies administrative policies disseminated by higher headquarters. Advises management and staff of significant changes.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the excepted service which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following;
1. Preparing Requests for Personnel Actions (RPA) on a number of transactions (position reviews, recruit actions, resignations, change in duty, reassignments, and awards).
2. Ensuring that task management, internal control processes and procedures for carrying out administrative functions meet the requirement of productivity and effectiveness
3. Receiving visitors and incoming telephone calls, directing them to the appropriate individual or providing the requested information.
4. Utilizing a wide range of office automation software in the accomplishment of day-to-day duties
