This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Business Support Services (BSS) in a Field Support Management Division (BQ). As a Field Support Specialist you will perform two fundamental roles: ensuring support to program lines of business operating in the field, and perform a wide variety of facility, budget, and miscellaneous administrative duties.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a Field Support Specialist, you will:
Serve as organizational point of contact for GSA and facility management company regarding facility negotiations and contracts, parking arrangements, and utility services, as necessary. Oversee the physical care, maintenance, and security of the regional field building(s), grounds, and contents, including guarding against loss, theft, damage to or deterioration of the records holdings. Coordinates with GSA, Federal Protective Service (FPS), and other entities, to ensure protection and maintenance of the facility site(s).
Collaborate with managers and staff in Agency Services, Research Services, and/or Legislative Archives, Presidential Libraries, and Museum Services, and colleague managers on issues of workplace health and safety, and personal and property security and as necessary serves as point-of-contact. As necessary, arranges for/facilitates staff training in these areas.
Track accounting reports using available financial monitoring tools such as Bureau of Public Debt (BPD) - NARA's current financial system and other on-line systems.Oversee the accuracy of Trust and Gift Fund income and expenses and manages assigned Field Office Trust Fund/Gift Fund program for all Program Offices to include overseeing Point-of-Sale cashiers and managers and monitoring all deposit and reconciliation processes. Conducts new POS cashier/POS manager and annual training and required cash counts as prescribed by U.S. Treasury Regulations and NARA policy. If necessary, provides specialized training as revised and new regulations and policies are issued.

Specialized experience for the GS-12 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must include:
Experience in leading a project with diverse team members, such as: from multiple organizations, disciplines or experience levels.
AND
Applying professional and business management principles.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
