Duties
Major Duties:
The incumbent will operate one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, specialty pumping equipment, and trash removal trucks which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 pounds and up to 32,000 pounds.
Operates vehicles over rough terrain, in close quarters, and in heavy traffic on both long and short hauls.
May perform semi-skilled and unskilled maintenance, and repair of paved and gravel roads.
A drug test must be completed and cleared prior to entrance on duty.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT)
Operation of motor vehicles
Work practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order)
Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation)
Ability to drive safely (motor vehicles)
Ability to operate safely (non-motor vehicle)
Reliability and dependability as a Motor Vehicle Operator
