The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a McGuire AFB Vehicle Fleet/Vehicle Management and Analysis Technician.
Duties
Maintains accountability of Base Vehicle Fleet. Uses Vehicle Maintenance Automated Fleet Information System (AFIS) to account for all registered vehicles and receipt for all base Registered Equipment Management System (REMS) reportable vehicles.
Participates with other Vehicle and Maintenance Analysis members in the planning of the base vehicle fleet.
Administers the base Vehicle Lease Program for General Services Administration (GSA) general purpose and commercial special purpose vehicles.
Coordinates vehicle maintenance requirements. Provides vehicle status and coordinates vehicle activities with unit and installations' Vehicle Control Officer/Vehicle Control Non-Commissioned Officer (VCO/VCNCO's) and other appropriate customers.
Plans, schedules, and monitors maintenance necessary to meet emergency and regular workload requirements.
Base Vehicle Control Program. Ensures wing policies, plans, and Vehicle Control function programs are followed by organizations assigned vehicles.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for Transportation Clerk and Assistant Series, 2102.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of established transportation regulations, procedures, terminology, operations, and processes related to vehicle fleet management and maintenance control. Knowledge and skill in applying a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques in maintaining a motor vehicle fleet, using prescribed computer systems and in accordance with public law, Air Force Instructions/Manuals and supplements, and local operating instructions; knowledge and application of an extensive body of transportation regulations, methods, and practices to perform a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard transportation support assignments and resolve a wide range of problems.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of established transportation regulations, procedures, terminology, operations, and processes related to vehicle fleet management and maintenance control.
Knowledge and skill in applying a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques in maintaining a motor vehicle fleet, using prescribed computer systems and in accordance with public law, Air Force Instructions/Manuals and supplements, and local operating instructions. Knowledge of governing vehicle maintenance regulations, procedures, and instructions.
Skill in performing analyses and reports functions to ensure assigned motor vehicle assets are used efficiently and maintained correctly.
Knowledge of federal agency priority buy programs.
Skill in planning, scheduling, monitoring, and analyzing the maintenance requirements of base motor vehicles.
Knowledge of vehicle rental and lease administration.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
