Duties
You will perform duties in construction, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution systems (overhead and underground) (120/208 to 34500 KV). Troubleshoot power distribution system in the event of a power outage.
You will maintain and operate generators ranging in size, 30 KW to 2.5 Meg units with voltage ranges of 120/208 to 13.8 KV three phase units.
You will install, maintain and repair electric motors on various manual automatic controls. Overhaul and repairs electrical equipment, disassembling, assembling, tracing circuits and locating defects.
You will clean and repair parts, replace wiring, brushes, electrical connections and insulating parts as necessary. Repair and adjust meters and control instruments.
You will perform high voltage electrical technical support, locate cable and duct banks as needed for mapping and plans, perform field inspections of substations, cable, generators, and buildings for repair or replacement.
You will perform chemical analysis on transformer and breaker insulating oil that include interfacial tension, acid titration, dielectric strength, and specific gravity to insure fluid meets operational criteria.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICIAN without more than normal supervision: 1) Operating high voltage electrical distribution systems, circuits, and equipment. 2) Reading blueprints, electrical schematics, circuit diagrams to perform the job. 3) Monitoring equipment for auto transfer. 4) Utilizing hand and power tools to repair and test electrical systems.
