This position will provide secretarial support to the Facilities Chief Logistics Officer (FCLO). The position will operate independently in carrying out the secretarial duties in support of the Logistic Departments mission.
Duties

Major duties and responsibilities include:
Assisting, supporting, coordinating and integrating all operations and administrative functions of the Equipment, Medical/Surgical/GIP and Receiving sections within Logistics.
Reviewing incoming correspondence and determining appropriate action, and at times, composing an appropriate answer.
Reviewing outgoing correspondence for accuracy and proper distribution, ascertaining that all coordination of facts has been completed and is accordance with established policy.
Screening calls, visitors, and patients, personally taking care of routine matters.
Creating a variety of correspondence, reports and spreadsheets. Composing from brief notes or oral instructions memos and letters to medical center services, other government agencies, vendors, and contractors and organizing minutes for service meetings.
Serving as the primary timekeeper for the service.
Identifying, investigating, analyzing, and making recommendations for the solution of problems.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications
IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-6 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to this Secretary position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes referring visitors and telephone calls to appropriate department; processing incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication; maintaining appointments, calendars, coordinating meetings, and scheduling conferences; experience performing timekeeping functions. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE.)

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: Most work is in an office setting. There is some standing, bending, stooping, and walking to different areas of the medical center and health science campus. Incumbent carries lightweight items, but must also be able to lift and transport supplies, at about 25Lbs. (ex; boxes of paper). The work is performed in an office setting but requires daily visits to a variety of offices, hospital conference rooms, auditoriums, and general OKC VA HCS areas. Occasional travel may also be required.
