Duties
Troubleshoot, repair, modify and maintain a variety of heavy mobile equipment such as construction, industrial, combat, tactical, and powered support equipment.
Remove and repair major systems or components of equipment to include power packs, transmissions, transfers, gear reduction units, injector pumps, air conditioners, fuel pumps and alternators.
Make idle speed, current, brake, and transmission linkage adjustments.
Perform initial and in-process inspections.
Perform mechanical diagnostics and troubleshoot to localize defects and determine cause of malfunction.
Perform mechanical maintenance on defective parts.
Perform minor body work.
Provide technical assistance to unit personnel.
Operate motor vehicles to perform the duties of this position.
Requirements
- THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a valid state Driver's License.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves utilizing automated systems to schedule/track repairs or work requests; maintain equipment/supply logs or production control records; receive/issue/stock supplies, tools or parts; dispatch vehicles; or conduct inventories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
