About the Position: The Mission of the Immunization Healthcare Division is to further support Force Health Protection and Readiness, and the Military Health System (MHS) by developing and promoting programs and services that enhance immunization effectiveness, safety, and acceptability.

Duties

Reviews, interprets, advises, educates, and remains current on all vaccine-related Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidance, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. Prepares and disseminates information, including but not limited to vaccine associated policies and regulations to assigned clinics and stakeholders. Professionally interacts with military, civilian, and/or contract personnel involved in the delivery of vaccines to DoD beneficiaries. Independently and within scope of practice, provides immunization training and instruction on immunization products, administration techniques, patient education, preparedness for possible adverse events following immunizations.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
