Unity Healing Center is a sixteen-bed coed facility. Services are provided in a home-like environment; a place of healing where the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of each resident are addressed. The average length of stay is between 80-90 days depending upon the resident's needs. The treatment program incorporates the 12 Step Program of Recovery with the uniqueness of Native American culture.
Duties
Provides thorough assessment, counseling, and consultation services to individuals Who present for s8fVices with substance use risk factors and/or disorders.
Independently develops workable treatment plans and provides direct treatment using a wide variety of techniques for the resolution of personal, social, or environmental difficulties related to substance use disorders.
Coordinates with community referral resources and makes referrals to other social or medical resources, as appropriate.
Manages all aspects of developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans for patients with substance use and abuse related problems,
Proactively coordinate, facilitate, and advocate tor seamless service delivery !or persons in the community dealing with impairments and dislress associated with substance use disorder.
Links patients with needed community services for medical, employment, housing, and follow-up care.
Responds to and intervenes in crises related to patients' resource needs and mental health concerns.
Conducts comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, mental, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
Engages in patient advocacy and collaborates with physicians, social agencies, mental health. and health care facilities to bridge care and gaps in services.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement.
Examples Include:
Providing case management services for substance use disorder/chemical dependent patients by proactively coordinating, facilitating, and advocating the seamless treatment service delivery and other related services needed. Experience assessing patient's treatment needs and completing and following up on patient treatment plans insuring optimum treatment outcome. Experience educating patients, families and communities on substance use and chemical dependency disorders, intervention services and treatment modalities.
SELECTIVE FACTOR:
Ability to show evidence of possession of one of the following issued by a U.S. State or Territory.
LPA - Licensed Psychological Associate OR LCWS - Licensed Clinical Social Worker OR LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor OR
LCAS - Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist OR CP-Clinical Psychologist.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
