As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as Air Traffic Manager for the Juneau Flight Service Station
Duties
The Air Traffic Manager is responsible for establishing policies and procedures that apply to day-to-day operations and maintains a general awareness of the overall operational effectiveness. Provides training, coaching and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building throughout their areas of responsibility. Reviews work processes to ensure results meet the agency’s mission and the customer’s needs. Serves as a member of the management team to ensure organizational performance meets agency strategic goals.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
- One year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required.
- Position is designated Moderate Risk; a background investigation may be required.
- FAA 3330-43 (NOT Rated) MUST be submitted.
- Position is NOT covered by P.L. 92-297 for early retirement purposes.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-J or FG/GS-14. Specialized experience is experience in an air traffic facility which demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the level of work of this position. Specialized experience may include, but is not limited to: leading or managing diverse work groups, planning and communicating organizational strategic goals, objectives and expectations; applying complex technical knowledge of air traffic control procedures, operations, traffic control laws, rules and regulations.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
