This position is located in the Nursing Department at the Cheyenne River Health Center (CRHC), Eagle Butte, SD and is accredited by The Joint Commission as a Critical Access Hospital. This position is responsible for supervising nursing staff in the outpatient clinic. Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: You may qualify for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with agency policy Housing: There may be Government housing available for this position, depending on availability.

Duties

Assesses patient care needs for all patients on the Outpatient Department; adjusts staff and makes assignments appropriately. Collaborates with the Outpatient Nurse Supervisor, Clinical Director, and/or nursing administration as needed. Formulates nursing interventions based on appropriately identified nursing diagnosis and in accordance with Acute Care patient care standards. Develops a plan of care for individual patients identifying problems, and needs of the patient, makes adjustments to the plan of care as needed, evaluates the plan of care on daily basis. Participates in problem solving to make improvements in the delivery of patient care in collaboration with the staff and nursing administration. Provides leadership in the implementation of planned changes and activities to improve nursing service. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): OPM Link: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0600/nurse-series-0610/ Education: A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. AND License: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States (Applicants must list their license number on their resume, along with the expiration date, OR submit a copy of their Nursing license that includes the expiration date. Acceptable verification of licensure includes a printout from a State Board of Nursing website [or other applicable license verification website that reflects your licensure status]). In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples Include:Assign and monitor the specific duties of nursing personnel. Identify and analyze problems to make well-informed decisions to meet patient care. Assess the patient care needs; adjust staff and collaborate with the Nurse supervisor as necessary. Develop a plan of care for individual patients utilizing nursing diagnosis. Consult with primary care provider and other healthcare professionals on patients to coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patients. Provide orientation to new employees. Participate and contribute to clinical performance improvement activities. Document observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures administered and patient response to treatment or nursing care. Evaluate professional growth and activities implemented to improve nursing services. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
