This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), in Central Electrical Service (TFHE), Construction & Maintenance Services (TFH), Transmission Field Service (TF), Transmission Services (T).
A successful candidate in the Electrician Foreman III (Construction) position is principally responsible for major construction projects of a complex nature.

As an ELECTRICIAN FOREMAN III (CONSTRUCTION), you will:
Qualifications
Temporary Promotion (BPA-only): This is a temporary promotion, not to exceed one (1) year, may be extended up to five (5) years total; may be made permanent without further competition. Upon termination of the promotion, you will be returned to your original position of record, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay. Temporary promotions may be terminated at any time based on the needs of management.
If you are currently employed at a grade equivalent to, or higher than the advertised position, the action will be considered a detail for processing purposes, and no salary increase will be associated with accepting the position. Details are processed in 120 day increments and may be extended up to two (2) years total; additional extensions may be approved at the discretion of the Human Resources Service Center Director. Upon termination of the detail, you will be returned to your original position of record. Details may be terminated at any time based on needs of management.

The screen-out element for this position is: Ability to successfully lead a team of High Voltage Electricians in constructing, installing, and calibrating electrical sub-stations, power generation/transmission/distribution equipment and systems at 11,000 to 500,000 volts; constructing electrical sub-stations and transformer banks; and erecting or modifying steel structures and bus work. This includes performing long and short-term project planning, scheduling work, rating and evaluating employee performance; developing subordinates through training, and assuming overall responsibility for completion of construction and installation projects. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Is exposed to the same working conditions applicable to journeymen electricians assigned to construction. Is subject to work assignments throughout the BPA system. Construction work assignments normally require frequent and prolonged duty at sites remote from both home and permanent duty station. Frequent travel is required. When assigned to the Switchboard Shop, may be required to perform supervision of construction work in the field when shop work is low or when required by construction workload. Must adjust quickly to work situations on projects not experienced before or only seldomly experienced, and recognize and guard against potential hazards.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
Ability to stand an average of 2 hours, with a maximum of 3-4 hours uninterrupted.
Drives vehicles to and from work sites and operate equipment. May sit up to 8 hours/day while wiring relay racks.

Lifts tools and equipment. Average is10-20 lbs.
Installs conduit and pulls cable. Pushing/pulling while assembling bolts and parts.
Works in cramped, awkward positionswhile working from buckets, in manholes or confined spaces, etc.
Handles small, light components and tools involved in diagnostic testing , assembly and wiring and larger items such as cable, ground wires, etc.
Works with arms overhead or occasionally outstretchedfor extended periods of time.
Frequent kneeling to access and test equipment and wire.
