About the Position: This position Located at USAJFK SPECIAL WARFARE CENTER & SCHOOL, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Duties
The work of this position involves recording, reporting, processing and keeping track of budgetary transactions which facilitate thebudget process and directly support budget analysis and administrative work.
Organizes budget data according to appropriation account, object class, and line-item code.
Reviews estimates to assure that amounts requested are within established.
Researches, compiles, verify, and summarizes data involving salaries, expenses, and object class and line-item information.
Gather, organize and analyze information for inquiries and resolves problems under the GTC system.
Process customer TDY orders and monitor other departmental funds usingdbCAS (databased Commitment Accounting System) and STANFINS (Standard Finance System).
Develops direct fund citations using automated travel program.
Serves as the main POC and technical expert for Battalion Defense Travel System (DTS).
Independently performs tasks involving budget execution by compiling resource data from various financial management reports.
Tracks funds distribution, reconciling commitments/obligations and reallocating organizational funds as directed.
Monitors costs and prepares reports projecting use of available resources.
Adjusts a wide variety of funds such as appropriated and industrial accounts to reflect effects of budgetary transactions (e.g., obligations, expenditures, transfers and reimbursements).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The employee may be required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Travel away from the normal duty station (TDY) is at least 10%.
- Position requires the skills of a Qualified Typist. Incumbent must be able to type 40 WPM.
- The employee may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.
- This Level 1 Financial Management certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
- A one year probation period may be required.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience in1) Formulating budget summaries and reports using statistical data; 2) Utilizing automated financial accounting systems to input and process data such as Defense Travel System (DTS)/ Government Travel Card (GTC); 3) Reviewing budgetary data to provide support for budget formulation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
