The position is located at the Rosebud Service Unit, Rosebud, South Dakota.
The Rosebud Service Unit is a 35-bed unit with the following services: general medicine, women's health, pediatrics, emergency room, outpatient, inpatient and specialty clinics.
Duties
Coordinates and performs specialized care and follow-up for patients in the following clinics, e.g., Audiology Clinic, Telemedicine, Nephrology and other specialty clinics.
Operated specialized equipment such as JVN, telemedicine monitor and accessories.
Assists in pre-planning for patient visit and implements necessary forms required for patient's specialty clinic visits.
Assists with patient screening by obtaining and documenting patient medical information.
Assists physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Individual Occupational Requirements
Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above): Positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled.

Education and Training
For GS-5: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-5: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-4 grade level AND/OR four (4) year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation, if required/
GS-6: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-5 grade level.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
GS-5: Experience performing intake procedures by obtaining chief complaint, purpose of visit; experience taking vital signs, i.e. temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, height, weight, and pain screen.
GS-6: Experience performing review on patient charts via Electronic Health Record (EHR); experience determining and carrying out preventative care needs according to standing orders that include colorectal cancer screening, diabetic foot check, women's health screening referral; and experience notifying medical provider of abnormal findings.
Time In Grade (Merit Promotion Candidates Only)
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
