This position is located at US Mint,San Francisco Mint-MANUF DEPT/Plant Mgr CA/Prod Div/Plant Engin Sec CA/FAC ENGINEER AND MAINT BR. As a/an Electrician, you will perform the full range of tasks associated with the journeyman level electrician. Electrician receives little or no technical supervision; apply more ingenuity, judgment, and skill in planning and laying out the work to meet a variety of unique and critical requirements.

Duties

As an Electrician, you will: Independently formulate the layout sketch of required electrical circuits, wire new test setups, install strain gauge circuits and recording instruments as needed by the test program to measure performance of test articles, check the installed system to insure that specified electrical test conditions are attained, and may troubleshoot the electrical portions of the test equipment during test programs to determine cause of malfunction and make necessary repairs. Install, maintain and repair electric wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels and outlet boxes, as well as a wide variety of electrical fixtures, tools and appliances. Inspect, maintain, clean, repair, test and adjust electrical buzzer and bell circuits, light sockets, receptacles, lighting fixtures, fans, switches, circuit breakers, office heating appliances, fire alarms, clocks, rheostats, thermostats, electrical drills, grinders, and shop equipment.
