You will serve as a MACHINIST LEADER in the MACHINE PRODUCT DEPARTMENT of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.
Duties
You will interpret instruction from the supervisor and plan the division workload based on availability and capability.
You will estimate and request appropriate manning in accordance to the workload requirements.
You will oversee work assignments to ensure appropriate manuals, blueprints, tools and supplies are obtained to complete jobs.
You will develop drawings using parametric solid modeling computer software such as 'Solid Works', AutoCAD or other similar engineering drawing programs; programs CNC jobs in 'Master Works X'; sets up and operates CNC and other machines.
Transfer close to tolerance holes of existing patterns by drilling and reaming through templates or using drill fixtures. typically works from blueprints, technical data, technical manuals, written instructions and verbal directives.
You will frequently plan or lay out work to drill, ream, and bore holes to repair, modify or rework mechanical parts to restore condition.
You will use 3D scanners and setup 3D printers using solid modeling (CAD files) files to prototype parts, developing and manufacturing special fixtures and tooling adaptors.
You will be required to machine components to tolerance of .0005 or less, using calibrated precision measuring tools such as micrometers, precision indicators, depth/height gauges, inside micrometers, bore gauges and others as required by the job.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
