You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the FLEET, FAMILY HOUSING DEPARTMENT of NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS.

Duties

You will monitor the operation and maintenance of the public-private venture (PPV) housing, reviewing financial and maintenance plans and reports. You will evaluate management, maintenance, and operating costs; review statistical data; develop information that included current and past expenditure; and review and provide comments to annual housing budget. You will work liaison with military families, Command personnel, and their staff to ensure personnel are assisted with repairs or maintenance. You will ensure the occupancy data in housing software program is review and updated on a daily/monthly basis and reflects current occupancy. You will prepare policy letters for the Commanding Officer/Region approval.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting, explaining and applying technical requirements of public-private venture housing facilities, general business principles and practices; 2) Using housing software to maintain occupancy records, property account information, inspection records and condition reports; and 3) Preparing reports and point papers that include information relative to data collection, analysis, and recommendation for action. Education

Specialized experience may be substituted with the following education:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
