The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Wichita, KS is currently recruiting for a Program Support Assistant in support of Facilities Management.
Duties
Duties Include but not limited to:
Processes all work orders requested by telephone, electronical, and/or personal interview.
Responsible for reviewing, recording, and compiling information related to vehicle assignment and use.
Performs daily checks to determine the accuracy of data.
Compiles information from computer listings and prepares a variety of reports.
Acts as liaison between customers, different sections within Facilities Maintenance Service and technicians in various departments.
Assists with clerical support as required.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work. There may be some walking, standing, bending and carrying light items such as paper and books.

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: Using a computer to analyze or process incoming forms, records, or other documents; creating and maintaining a computerized record system; monitoring computer systems operations to make sure they run properly; tracing transactions from the initial request until items have been received; keeping up with new features in office equipment or procedures; overseeing proper implementation of instructions, policies, or procedures; revising procedures or methods to improve efficiency.
There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
