This position will be assigned to Lodging at JBSA Lackland, TX . This is a regular part-time category position with guaranteed 20 hrs. per week, may work up to 40 hrs./week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.
Duties
Support of the front desk/office operations for Lodging, relay work instruction from supervisor, provide on job training for new employees, observe work in progress of new team members. Share learned best practices of front desk operations. Assists in correcting clerical and system errors. Ensure adherence of established quality and safety standards. Balance workload of team members during shift ensuring efficient output of work. On occasion provide input to supervisor on employees performance of assigned work and or identify training needs. Maintain log of incident and reports, notify supervisors of all violations of safety. Ensure adequate stock supplies and equipment are available to do the work. Resolve straightforward guest complaints and document situations with outcome. Elevate guest /employee complaints that are unresolvable at their level. Ensure proper level of customer service is provided. Register and assign rooms to guest, make and issue room keys, escort guest to room if needed, ensure proper use of government quarters. Calculate and post charges to patrons accounts and balances total with control records. Accept payments, make change and present departing guest checkout statements. Prepare and safeguard cash receipts, prepare daily cashier reports daily activity report, and prepare and consolidate daily activity reports. Update automated data base on occupancy and checkouts. Maintain current checkout list. Maintain and sell sundry sales items. Ensure required information is received from guest and updated. Record and notify appropriate person/organization of maintenance problems reported by guest. Ensure front desk area and lobby remains clean. Process night audit procedures and close credit card machines nightly. Maintain lost and found program. Along with performing other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience utilizing automated systems and computer software (i.e., hotel property management system or equivalent); experience in providing verbal and written communication tactfully when attending to the needs of guests and enforcing various policies, requirements and rules of the facility; experience in performing front desk duties (i.e., reservation request; assigning rooms; customer checkout procedures; running cashier reports, etc.). Previous experience leading the work of others is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of cash handling.
2. Knowledge and ability of operating a cash register.
3. Must be able to read, speak, and write English.
