This National Guard position is for a Supervisory Production Controller (Aircraft), Position Description Number NGD2504000 and is part of 114 Maintenance Operations Flight-MOF. This is a Title 32, Dual-Status position. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: - Members of the South Dakota Air National Guard or those eligible to join.

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT), GS-1152-11, you will: This position is located at an Air National Guard (ANG) Airlift Wing, Maintenance Group, Maintenance Operations Flight, and serves as a consultant to the Maintenance Group Commander / Director of Maintenance.

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Aptitude scores can be checked on the vMPF or at the Customer Service in the Force Support Squadron and physical profile in the medical squadron. Military grade requirements are Chief Master Sergeant/E-9 or promotable to Chief Master Sergeant/E-9. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience or training in the KSAs listed below. Education or training in computations of cost data on labor and materials, buying materials or reviewing data with respect to man-hours, machine time, materials consumed, etc. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc. Experience in supervising subordinate personnel, establishing work priorities, overseeing work in progress. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Skill in developing, interpreting, and providing program guidance to the Wing regarding maintenance policies, procedures, budget, training criteria, and manpower/personnel. Skill in developing recommendations for budgetary actions for specific functions while also evaluating trends and operating costs used to project future commitments and obligations. Skill in interpreting operational, exercise, and contingency requirements and implements actions to assist Wing execution. Skill in Coordinating plans and schedules with other organization managers and customers as appropriate and Identifies need for changes in priorities and takes action to implement such changes. Skill in analyzing aircraft statistics and health of the fleet to assist senior leaders to develop and implement programs to ensure the unit meets mission requirements.
