About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Security Office. Serve as a Supervisory Security Guard engaged in protecting property, materials, and equipment as well as personnel against injury, damage, fire, theft and possible acts of sabotage and espionage.

Duties

Performs supervisory and administrative duties of assigned Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) force personnel. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set, and adjust short-term and long-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Conduct job performance evaluations of all subordinates annually. Responsible for the safeguarding of government personnel, property, equipment, and research technologies. Conduct access control and limited law enforcement operations to ensure the maintenance of physical security standards. Accurately completes incident reports, including theft or accident, etc. Performs daily post checks of all post/personnel and equipment included in guard force areas of responsibilities. Makes decisions according to the nature of perceived threat including, demonstrators or other organized subversive actions, by the nature of hazards imposed and/or weather or other conditions and the ability to observe or pursue violators. Ensure timely and accurate response and reporting to Mass Notification System (MNS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) fire systems and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) camera systems, including the reporting of system(s) malfunctions. As assigned, supervises activities or events including security escorts, special events and exhibits, and monitors public events on the ERDC campus. Performs/supervises administrative activities and functions including overtime reports, daily journal, property passes, patrol vehicle inventory, ammunition and equipment inventory and armory supply acquisition. Supervises and schedules guard training to ensure effective planning and appropriate use of Government resources. Performs other duties as required.
