This announcement is being recruited using the Administrative Careers Within America (ACWA) assessment.

Duties

Evaluates and prepares reports with recommended action on business management operations during and after emergency incidents. Provides resolutions to incident related business management problems and issues during incidents. Develops or modifies appropriate business management training material for positions within the organization. Develops and conducts training for fire business management support positions. Analyze results of incident operations and prepares reports with recommended action. Analyzes comparisons of historical and current incident cost data. Conducts reviews of the effectiveness of financial management and other business management practices on incidents within the field office. Provides direction and interpretation of policies, procedures and guidelines to managers and co-workers. Provides expert advice and consultation to fire and field office managers on fire business management activities.

  • This position may require regular and recurring overtime and shift work during peak fire season.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirements: In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement(s); please be sure to include this information in your resume. No assumptions will be made about your experience. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade of the position to be filled. To qualify for the GS-07 grade level, 1 year of credible specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 is required. Examples of work experience include, but are not limited to: preparing emergency equipment rental agreements; initiating and purchasing supply acquisitions; coordinating the development and maintenance of service and supply plans, coordinating fire billings to and from other agencies or individuals. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of Education for Experience: GS-07: 1 year (18 semester hours) of graduate education which is DIRECTLY related to work of the position; OR an equivalent combination of specialized experience and education; OR Superior Academic Achievement, based on one of the following: (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society member.
