Position provides direct clinical equipment management and maintenance services, technical research and consultation related to patient care equipment, and management of available resources to maximize program efficiency and effectiveness. This position is located within the Clinton Service Unit Biomedical Department. This position reports directly to the Administrative Officer.

Duties

Develops and implements policies, procedures, and functional guidelines for the Biomedical Department. Establishes, interprets, and clarifies guidelines and procedures for implementation of a biomedical equipment control program. Provides skilled technical services to maintain, repair, and calibrate an extensive variety of medical and dental equipment. Manages and provides technical supervision for all biomedical equipment installations, repairs, inspections, calibrations, or modifications. Monitors Service Unit Biomedical work plans and assesses progress and completion of work assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Selects, installs, and provides preventive maintenance of sophisticated medical and dental equipment; Conducts recordkeeping activities to maintain compliance with statutory regulations and accreditation standards; Coordinates activities needed to implement equipment contract actions within differing health care program environments; Conducts acquisition planning necessary to support on-going multi-year programs relating to the delivery of health care. Supervisory Abilities: This is a supervisory position and candidates, in addition to the professional qualifications listed, must have demonstrated in their work experience or training, that they possess, or have potential to develop, the qualities of successful supervision, as required for this position. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
