This position is located in Idaho, Boise, at the USDA Rural Development (RD) State Office. The incumbent provides data input for field offices and clerical support on various loan, grant, and loan guarantee programs administered by RD as well as general program information and customer service to the public.

The selectee will report to USDA office located in Idaho, Boise.
Duties
Serves as a trainee assisting higher graded technicians in performing a variety of technical and
clerical support functions.
Uses automated systems to perform work assignments.
Inputting loan and/or grant document information and knowledge of procedures.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialize experience and/or education as defined below.
At the GS-05: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS- 04; or its non-Federal equivalent ability to perform a full range of experience gathering information, inputting information into automated systems, and preparing files and reports to assist higher level staff. Experience performing a full range of clerical assignments and functions such as correspondence, timekeeping, mail handling, customer interactions, and records management; knowledge of common business practices, rules, processes or operations in order to determine what is being done, why actions are taken, and how to accomplish assignments. Experience may have been gained in work comparable to loan/grant making and clerical duties OR Bachelors or equivalent degree OR 4 full years of progressively higher-level education leading to such a degree.

For the GS-06: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS- 05; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Experience performing work in data gathering and processing of loans, grants, banking functions, or financial services such as providing information to applicants, inputting information into automated systems, processing transactions for credit programs, commercial, real estate, or other loan/grant programs, and preparing files and reports for higher level staff. Work experience that demonstrates knowledge of examining forms and applications for completeness, identifying discrepancies or errors, and other specific requirements to follow policy, regulations, or other guidelines. Experience performing a full range of clerical assignments and functions such as correspondence, timekeeping, mail handling, customer interactions, and records management; knowledge of common business practices, rules, processes or operations in order to determine what is being done, why actions are taken, and how to accomplish assignments. There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-06 level.
