The primary purpose of this position is to accomplish the operation, overhaul, and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Facility and all equipment used in conjunction with the Wastewater Treatment operation.
Duties
Performs plant operations, reads gauges, meters, and makes entries to plan operating logs and maintenance records.
Installs and maintains all distribution and chemical feed lines within the plant operation to include value replacements, motor controllers, automatic valves, ph control systems/stabilized ph indicators, pressure switches and components, and establish operating instructions.
Incumbent coordinates with shift responsible operator to establish spare parts and supply levels in required phases of training of plant operations methods and procedures.
Incumbent complies will all security directives, reports all known security violations to the proper authority immediately upon discovery.
Incumbent works to achieve and support quality improvements in all products and services to demonstrate positive support while working with employees, superiors, and peers to establish and maintain the reputation as a quality organization.

- Incumbent must have a current State of Georgia Certificate of for Wastewater Treatment (at least Class111)
- Incumbent is required to check status of Industrial Waste Treatment Facility on weekends/holidays
- A Physical Examination is required
- The operator must have full use of hands, feet, eyes, and ears. Is exposed to inclement weather, heights, hazardous chemicals and materials
- The position may require the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5400 Industrial Equipment Operation Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is the ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision.
