Duties
As a Field Office Director, you will:
Be responsible for strategic leadership, planning, decision making and resource management for Field Policy and Management (FPM) in actively furthering HUD's mission and assuring that the local office is aligned with the Departmental Strategic Plan and related protocols.
Represent HUD and ensure the provision of effective and timely outreach and customer service to local partners and customers on a broad spectrum of HUD programs, initiatives, projects and other assigned events.
Ensure that available HUD resources are appropriately and efficiently targeted to address identified community priorities and needs, to ensure consistency in service, and to avoid duplication of administrative and program development efforts within HUD.
Seek, plan, develop and provide support for interagency, and joint initiatives, operations, and policies, as exemplified through HUD's role and work with a spectrum of other Federal agencies in disaster recovery and rebuilding activities, place-based investments and services, and interagency sustainability programs and efforts.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Leading, directing or managing programs that provide affordable housing, OR community development OR otherwise improve the conditions of persons living in poverty; AND
Collaborating with high-level Federal, State, and Local officials and organizations to effectively promote your programs goals and objectives.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
