About the Position: This position is located at the DiLorenzo Pentagon Health Clinic, Civilian Employee Health Service (CEHS), located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. The CEHS provides occupational health and preventive medicine services to the Federal civilian employees, contractors who occupy the Washington Headquarters Service Facilities in the National Capital Region. This clinic generally operates from 0700 - 1600 Monday through Friday. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Provide treatment for work and non-work related injuries and illnesses, with appropriate consultations and referrals. Serves as a technical advisor and consultant in the field of OH nursing administration and evaluation. Collaborate with providers, industrial hygienists, and safety/health specialists to manage and oversees the occupational health programs. Perform supervisory duties on OHNs and MSA.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
• One year trial/probationary period may be required.
• This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
• This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
• This position requires the incumbent to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
• This position does not require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
• This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• This position may require the incumbent to complete a one year supervisory probationary period.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Nurse (Clinical/Critical Care): Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.). Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. Foreign Degree: A degree from a Foreign Nursing School. Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0610 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Professional Nursing Experience: One or more full years of professional nursing experience which includes providing standard nursing care and treatment both independently and part of a multidisciplinary team for patients in the area of occupational health (OH); assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of task, and requirements of assignments; providing consultation to OH nurses and senior personnel on OH standards, services, or requirements, preparing written reports of OH findings. This definition of professional nursing experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
